Music Ministry

Music Ministry

You'll find a variety of music here at Mansfield 1st, from contemporary worship to traditional hymns.  We have some gifted musicians who want to worship with you and not merely lead you in songs.

We are so thankful and excited to have our new worship leader join the team here at Mansfield 1st, Nate McFadden.

Nate grew up in the Mansfield area and was homeschooled up through high school.  Music was his main focus in school, taking private lessons on multiple instruments starting at the age of 9.  Piano eventually became his primary instrument.  His beginning piano teacher was Meg Litteral from Fredericktown, OH.   He then continued to advanced piano with Elizabeth Pastor from Ashland University.  After graduating high school, he continued his studies with Elizabeth Pastor while attending the college of music at Ashland University.  Through those years Nate was also the church pianist at his family's church where he learned to chord along with their music leader who lead with guitar.  This opportunity pushed Nate to play be ear and has been a valuable skill for him to have learned.  Here at Mansfield 1st EPC there is a balance between traditional hymns and contemporary worship.  Nate feels very privileged to be able to make music for the worship service of our great God.  What could be a worthier cause?!

"Praising God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below; Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!"

Singing songs is one of the ways we can respond to God. We can sing songs that simply praise God for who He is. We can sing songs that are thankful for His Blessings and Forgiveness.  And we can sing songs that declare our need to be near Jesus. The goal of our music ministry is to provide each of us an opportunity to declare God's worthiness to be worshipped, praised, and adored. (Revelation 5:11-14)

No matter what type of music you like, our worship leaders will always be reminding the congregation that, "jesus must increase and we must decrease." (John 3:30) It is all about Jesus, and not about us.

Our worship ministry is in transition, so if you play instruments and/or sing and you like to worship with contemporary Christian praise or traditional hymns, we'd love to find a place for your gifts.
